The dunes of SAND LAND await. The video adaptation of Akira Toriyama’s classic anime is opening its doors to eager players with a free demo.
Still weeks ahead of its upcoming release on PlayStation, Xbox Series X, and PC, players can get their first taste of the adventure. With characters Beelzebub, Rao, and Thief, players can cruise through the open sands with Toriyama's stylized vehicles.
The demo includes a small part of the map for players to explore and experiment with their unique abilities. In addition to combat, they can also try its weapon customization and vehicle upgrades. These essential mechanics are necessary to improve the gang’s efficiency to stay alive during intense enemy battles.
SAND LAND takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where resources are limited. It follows the story of a ragtag group of characters as they fight for their survival in a decaying society.
Akira Toriyama is known for being the creator of the Dragon Ball series and main character designer behind the Dragon Quest RPG. The anime and the game franchise have since become the subject of many high-profile RPGs and fighting games. These include Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of Elusive Age, which currently sits as one of the best PC RPGs.
SAND LAND is one of Toriyama's last projects before his death on March 1, 2024,
Players can test out SAND LAND's demo on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam. The game will launch on these same platforms on April 26, 2024.
