The award-winning tower defense game franchise, Kingdom Rush, is set to make a comeback.

Developer Ironhide Game Studio recently unveiled the development of Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance. Along with their announcement, they also dropped a trailer, sending fans of the popular strategy game reeling.

The exact release date for Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance is July 25th, 2024.

In the meantime, Ironhide has started accepting pre-registrations. Players on iOS, Android, and PC via Steam can pre-order the upcoming game.

Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance, based on its latest trailer, will have 12 playable heroes, 27 characters, and 15 towers to defend. The game will also have 16 stages, 32 enemies, and several game modes.

But the highlight of the newest Kingdom Rush installment is its lore.

In a twist of events, Linirea and Veznan Horde will be forging an alliance for Kingdom Rush 5. A common enemy has prompted the two warring factions to unite.

The trailer opens with familiar faces like the valiant paladin Gerald Lightseeker and the fiery mage Elan Shali. Alongside them are imposing figures from the Veznan ranks, like the hulking Black Knight. Even the enigmatic mastermind, Vez'nan himself, made his presence.

In turn, players can expect a different gameplay. With warriors from both the Linirea and Veznan Horde at their disposal, they can deploy two heroes simultaneously. This will allow them for a 'wider range of strategies and devastating combinations.'

Ironhide also confirmed the return of several fan-favorite towers for Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance. These included the Paladins, Archers, Mages, and the Necromancers. They also teased in their trailer about newcomers into the game.

Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance will carry a price tag of $6.99. /###
