Fans of the popular arena fighter Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles, rejoice!
SEGA on December 9 confirmed the release of its sequel. Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 will launch next year, the Japanese video gaming giant announced. It will arrive on PC and consoles.
Japanese game developer CyberConnect2 leads once again the development team for Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2.
Building on the success of its predecessor, players will once again step into the shoes of Tanjiro Kamado and other beloved characters. The upcoming sequel will feature story arcs from the animes's Entertainment District Arc, Swordsmith Village Arc, and Hashira Training Arc.
Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 will still be an arena fighter with free exploration between battles. This is in contrast to the series' boardgame counterpart, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Sweep the Board!
In the meantime, SEGA has also revealed some of the new features for the upcoming game. These included a new Story Mode. This will allow players to relive pivotal moments.
Developers have also 'significantly enhanced' its VS mode, which has a roster of over 40 characters. Like fan-favorites like Muichiro Tokito and Mitsuri Kanroji.
Returning characters from the original Hinokami Chronicles will also included in the sequel, SEGA confirmed. As well as those introduced in post-launch updates and DLCs.
The game’s base roster, on the other hand, will feature all nine Hashira, and the elite warriors of the Demon Slayer Corps.
Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles first came out in 2021. The game eventually became both a commercial and critical success. It garnered praise for its storytelling, faithful adaptation, and stunning graphics. The Hinokami Chronicles has also sold over four million units worldwide.
Whatoplay gave it a playscore of 7.8 on PC and Xbox One; It also received 8.2 on Switch, making it one of the best Switch games of all time.
