The first Little Nightmares game was a success. It evoked a feeling of uneasiness, even for veterans of the horror-genre. As a little girl trapped in a hellish dimension, she must escape to survive the monsters.

In Little Nightmares 2, the girl in a yellow raincoat returns, but players will not be taking control of her. Instead, they will control Mono. A young boy trapped in a dimension distorted by a distant signal tower. Together with Six, they must work together to set out and discover the sinister secrets of the world, all while running away from the evil clutches of the unknown.

This sequel also adds a brand new feature which incorporates AI to Six, where she will act as Mono’s companion and solve puzzles together. The relationship between these two will flesh out the lore between the mysterious Maw and its demonic entities.

Also new to the game is the emphasis on grabbing objects in the environment to unlock certain points. It will add a whole new layer of complexity to the game. Stealth, on the other hand, is still a required feature and it is as important as ever. Time-pressure by means of monster types are still present and quick thinking is necessary.

Lastly, among its biggest addition is the freedom for players to explore the outside of The Maw. Which opens a new door for exploration, that means there will be new enemies to encounter and places to be.

Little Nightmares II will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC (Digital) and Nintendo Switch this 2020.
